An adaptation of the universal size office is used to accommodate the fluctuation in engineering project team staffing through their project phases. Offices and workstations of a single size make staffing reallocations a box move rather than a reconfiguration. The concept is applied to the 310,000 square feet in various buildings in west Houston. The skeleton of the core corridors remains so that future client requested project suites can be easily accommodated. Soft colors and impromptu open lounge meeting areas are used to enhance the sense of openness.
